Notification regarding maximum duration of simultaneous registration of CFN/CNCC under M.Sc DFSM programme ---------------IGNOU JAIPUR

Sub: Maximum duration of simultaneous registration of CFN/CNCC under M.Sc DFSM programme.
The Academic Council of Indira Gandhi National Open University in its 60th meeting held on 16-03-2013 has approved the following :-
1) Maximum duration of CFN/CNCC courses for students (who have seeked simultaneous admission in CFN/CNCC alongwith M.Sc (DFSM) will be 5 years in line with maximum duration for M.Sc(DFSM) programme.
2) Old students of M.Sc DFSM programme who could not complete left-over courses of CFN/CNCC can avail Re-admission after paying pro-rata course wise Re-admission fee @ Rs. 400 and Rs. 750/- respectively.

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Regional Centre for Rajasthan was established on 16th December 1987 in Kota vide statue of section 5 (2) xxxi of IGNOU. Act, and later in 1990 this Regional Centre office was shifted to Jaipur.

The State Capital of Rajasthan. From 1990 to April, 2002 it functioned from rented office premises. It was on 1st may, 2002 that we were able to shift to IGNOU’s own RC building at Mansarovar, Jaipur.

Since the inception of this Centre number of Study Centres and Programmes has been steadily increasing. At present there are 51 Study Centres of IGNOU located in different institutions of higher learning/NGOs in various parts of the Jaipur Region.

Unit 2 : Complex Number
Complex number in the form of a+ib. Addition, multiplication, division of complex numbers. Conjugate and modulus of complex numbers. De Moivre’s Theorem.

Quadratic, cubic and biquadratic equations. Relationship between roots and co-efficient. Symmetric functions of roots.

Solution of linear and quadratic inequalities.

Concept of limit and continuity; differentiation of the sum, difference, product and quotient of two functions, chain rule. Differentiation of parametric functions. 2nd order derivatives.

Unit 2 : Simple Application of Differential Calculus Rate of change; monotoncity-increasing and decreasing; maxima and minima.
Unit 3 : Integration
Integration as an anti-derivative. Integration by substitution and by parts.
Unit 4 : Application of Integration
Finding area under a curve. Rectification.
BLOCK 4: Vectors and Three-Dimensional Geometry
Unit 1 : Vector-1
Vectors and scalars, magnitude and direction of a vector. Direction cosines/ratio of vectors. Addition of two vectors. Multiplication of a vector by a scalar. Position vectors of a point and section formula.
Unit 2 : Vector-2
Scalar (Dot) product of vectors, Vector (Cross) product of vectors. Scalar triple product and vectors triple product.
Unit 3 : Three- Dimensional Geometry-1
Introduction, Distance formula. Direction cosines/ratio of a line passing through two points. Equations of a line in different forms; angle between two lines; Coplanar and skew lines. Distance between skew lines.
Unit 4 : Linear Programming
Introduction, definition and related terminology such as constrains, objective function,optimization. Mathematical Formulation of LPP. Graphical method of solving LPP in two variables. Feasible and inferring solution (up to three non-trivial constraints).
